“Used2Sew” is an entertaining podcast about one of the most important inventions to impact American lives outside of the automobile: the sewing machine.
Mother-daughter team TR and Aradia will be talking about sewing machines, sewing history, and sewing culture in the past and present. With comedic timing and far-ranging references, we will explore topics including (but not limited to) textiles, technology, transportation, industry, women, business, home sewing, social movements, politics, and the impacts of fast fashion. We will also talk a lot about vintage sewing machines with an emphasis on the Singer company, plus detours into the commercial and industrial textile world. There will also be personal Tales of Sales from when TR worked for Singer, and fun contests and calls to action.Â
Stay threaded!
How many sewing machines can claim to be born of scandal? Nobody knows, because there isn’t good documentation of exactly how big this scandal was! The Morse sewing machine has an unusually interesting backstory that leaves many questions unanswered.

Autistic Stuff for Autistic People is a podcast in which some friends who are also autistic peer support coaches talk about their lived experiences and special interests.Â
We are here to invite you into our world as autistic peers sharing relatable conversations about life as autistic people. Based on our experiences in creating peer support spaces online, we believe that introspective interpersonal connection is where some of the most lasting internal insights can come from. This podcast is for autistic people and anyone that lives with, works with, or loves an autistic person.Â
Aradia, Cheryl, and Patrice talk about their very different journeys to their current diagnostic statuses. There are no easy or simple answers, but there is validation to be found in community processing of the difficulty of navigating coming to the realization that you are autistic.

AI use policy
The use of AI in podcast editing and production is rapidly accelerating. We here at FARM do not like the idea of handing over editorial power to AI systems, nor do we think the energy demands of AI content generation are appropriate for the tasks they could replace.
FARM podcasts are 100% human created. There will never be AI used to prepare, create, edit, produce, or distribute any FARM podcasts.
